Jackie Chan doesn’t just work with our music and entertainment clients, she knows what it’s like to be an entertainer herself. A Rhode Island native, Jackie found her passion for music and art as a child and honed her skills in high school. As a student at Boston College, she studied Communications and Studio Art with an emphasis in multi-media creations. I’ve had the pleasure of looking through her portfolio and I’ve talked to her about different pieces – her work is thoughtful, striking, and extremely fresh – much like the perspective she contributes here at Gupta Media.
Her creativity doesn’t end with her art, however. Jackie was the lead singer of Funky Giant, the Boston College-based band whose performances have included a standing set time at the Cityside Bar in Brighton, MA and the BC Commencement Ball. They also performed at BC’s Battle of the Bands, where Jackie wrote original pieces for them to perform in the finals.
Not only was Jackie the first lead singer – and first female – the band ever had, but she was determined to grow their social presence and bookings. The work she did developing her band’s public presence gave way to her passion for music marketing, and her experience on both ends of the equation makes her particularly well-suited to communicating with entertainers and their representation alike.
She’s proven herself to be a go-to analyst among the clients she works with, and we’re very excited to see what innovation she’ll introduce next. Until then, we’ll be waiting patiently to hear her voice at our next karaoke event.
